Saturday morning fun

Saturday mornings are just about my favorite times at home. This morning Daddy got out his guitar and played for me!

I did a little playing too, but it didn't quite sound the same.

Then I found this box of Resli's and thought it looked like a good place to cop a squat. I said "SIT" over and over as I was perching on here.

But then I got distracted by Resli's new favorite TV show, Super Why.

But whatever it is we do, I enjoy spending time with my family on Saturday mornings!

What happened to February 29th?!?

Hi blog fans-
Somebody must get my Mami a calendar! She was waiting and waiting for the 29th to take my 16-months-old pictures, but suddenly it was March. Silly February. But it's official, I am 16 months old now! And to celebrate, I've got another ear infection. :(

We'll have more pictures up soon!

I love my daddy

My daddy and I have so much fun together.
I love to give him hugs.

I often ask him where his hair is!

Do you think we look alike?

Another visit to see Dr. Grooms

Yesterday Resli and I both got to go see our pediatrician - me for my 15 month check-up and Resli for her 4 year old check up. As usual, we entertained ourselves in our own unique way.
For example, Resli played with Mami's phone and her crown, and I took my diaper off.

I also went over some notes with Mami.

Oops, what's that on the floor?!?

Resli, you might not want to walk over here in your bare feet...
Oh, but by the way, Resli and I are both as healthy as can be! She's at about 45th %ile for height and weight, and I'm about 85th for height and 75th for weight. We both got shots, but we got over it quickly. All in all, a pretty successful visit (excluding the incident on the floor of course)!

A message for cousin Atticus

In the mail the other day we received a great photo announcement about my cousin Atticus' birth. I absolutely LOVED it! I waved it around and yelled "Baby! Baby! Baby!" over and over, so mami got out the camera. Of course, then I refused to say "Baby" again. But I do have a short message for my cousin:

I can't wait to meet you, Atticus!
Love,
Lela

Exercising my vocabulary

I'm getting better at communicating every day - look and see!

Dr. Ward to the living room STAT!

Resli opened her birthday present from Nana a day early (don't worry, she had permission to do so). It was a doctor's kit and a white doctor's jacket that says "Dr. Ward"!!! By some genetic flaw inherent in Resli's biology, she immediately responded to that gift by wanting to play the patient. Yea, right... NOT ME! I put on her jacket and decided I could be Dr. Ward!

There's a stethoscope too, and it also fit me just fine. (Resli kept calling it the doctoscope, which I guess makes sense too.)

Then I had to 'check' my patient. She was 'very ill' as she said. I took her blood pressure.

And told her to get some rest and call me in the morning.
I'm off to go find someone who wants a shot!

Thanks, Nana (from both of us)!

It's just not the same without Daddy

I miss Daddy a lot, things just aren't the same without him. I couldn't even get excited about dinner tonight.

Nor did the pacifier do much to really calm me down.

The only thing that drew even half a smile was the mention of Daddy:

Come home soon, Daddy, we need you!
And Mami's about had it with all my whining! :)

We miss you already, Daddy!

Hi Daddy! I wanted to say "hi" and "bye" to you and blow you a kiss. But I also wanted to show you how I can feed myself with a fork! Maybe I've been doing this for a long time but you never noticed before - I look pretty good at it, don't I?

I miss you Daddy. Muah!

Poor Granddaddy!

Granddaddy fell down yesterday and broke his collarbone! We felt so sorry for him that we stopped by their house to give him kisses.

(I hate to think how much he actually had to maneuver to receive our hugs and kisses, ouch!)
Don't worry, Grandma got some loving too.

Granddaddy, we hope you feel better soon!

Fun outdoors

It's been a little chilly here, but it's still nice enough to have some fun in the fresh air every now and then. I just loving going outdoors!

And Daddy does too. His favorite game is to make me fly. I like it, it's sort of fun.

But the one who really loves it is Resli!

How I celebrate being 15 months old

Yep, that's right, today I turn 15 months old. However, we all sort of forgot about it, it's been very busy around here. It also happens that I've been feeling a little out of sorts lately, so I ended up taking a birthmonth trip to the pediatrician's office.
I enjoyed playing with Mami's wallet while we were waiting.

I also took the opportunity to do some cleaning. (Not to mention spilling water on myself.)

I won't confess how many times I had to pinch my fingers in the garbage can before I stopped sticking them in there... (Come on, I'm only 15 months old! I don't learn these things too quickly!)

And then, look! Dr. Wyatt came in!

Unfortunately, he had some bad news: BOTH of my ears are infected! No wonder I haven't been feeling so great lately. We got some antibiotics though and I should be better soon.
In the meantime, though, I decided to do a little 15-month-party at my house later today. And what party would be complete if there weren't some crazy little girl taking her diaper off?

Come on guys, help me celebrate a year and a quarter!

Milestone: self-dressing

I'm not quite there (although I'm very helpful with most articles of clothing). And I'm very interested in trying to put on my shoes (or, as I call them, "OSH"). However, I'm getting very good at taking off my socks. Here, I'll show you how:
First, you grab hold of the toe.

And then you pull hard. Oops, hang on, I slipped off...

Let's try again. Grab the toe...

And ta-daa, the sock is off!

My skills are very impressive, aren't they?

The newest word in my ever-expanding vocabulary

The latest word I've learned to say is "sister."
Seriously, with a sister like mine, wouldn't you want to say that too?

We have such a great time together, I'm so lucky to have her!

Hand-me-downs never looked so good!

My sister Resli has so many great clothes that she's grown out of that I have a wonderful wardrobe waiting for me at every size.
Take this dress, for example. My cousin Reeny gave it to Resli years ago, but now it fits me just perfectly, don't you think?

(To refresh your memory, here's a picture of the dress with its original owner. It's reversible, so you get two fabulous looks in one!)

[October 2006]

And now for the real question: Do Resli and I look alike? We want to hear from you!

Partytime at my school

So, I'm still not that happy about being in school, but they did something neat tonight - they had a party! We all got to go in our pajamas, and they read us stories. (Yes, I cried hen we pulled in to the parking lot, but eventually calmed down as long as I was being held and assured that I wouldn't be left alone!)

Oh, and I snagged a few of Resli's cookies - yum!

Resli's friend Riley thought I was cute too, and she kept talking to me and rubbing my cheek. I liked her.

I got up for the hokey pokey but wasn't quite sure how to do it.

It was fun in an interesting kind of way, but mostly I spent the evening in Daddy's arms. And that's where I like it best.
