How time flies -- ¡siete meses ya!

Can you believe that I'm already seven months old?

No, for real. If you don't believe me, just look at the sign:

Time sure is flying by. I see my whole future spreading out before me - what a great life this is!

Happy Anniversary, Mami and Daddy!

Yesterday was Mami and Daddy's anniversary - they've been married for four years! (Hmmm, my big sister Resli will be 4 in about 9 months... Gosh, I wish I could do math!)
Mami and I came back to her office after teaching and discovered these beautiful flowers for her. Aren't they pretty?

Yea, there was a card too, but now we'll never know what it said.

We're pretty sure they were a gift from Daddy, that's the kind of cool husband he is.

A really big bathtub

I had yet another new experience today. I went swimming!
We were at Resli's friend Adam's house for his birthday party, and they had a beautiful huge pool, so Mami and I went in for a little bit.

I liked it at first, but it kind of scared me too. (As Resli says, I was freaking out a little bit.)
So I got out and hung with Daddy - I felt safer and happier in his arms.

True blue

We got a new rug for our living room the other day.
Now, nobody's come right out and said this, but Resli and I think that our parents chose this particular shade of rug because it matches the blue of our eyes.

What do you think?

Going bumperless

Because I've started to try pulling myself up everywhere, it was decided that the bumpers in my crib should be removed. OK, no problem, but look what happens when I sleep now:

Doesn't seem to bother me all that much, of course, but it's funny looking.

Family outing to the supermarket

The question is, where do we put the groceries??

Dinnertime

I'm really enjoying this food thing. I've now added squash to my menu, and I'm starting to figure out how spoons work. (Although Daddy is still pretty intent on cleaning me up.) So this is now what dinnertime is like at our table.

Food, glorious food!

So, there I was in my high chair last night, innocently watching everyone eat their yummy dinner while munching away on my strap.

When to my surprise, Mami appeared with a bowl and a spoon and headed my way! Oh, yippee! It was rice cereal ... for ME!

And let me tell you, I LOVED it! I took to food like a real champ. (I know, you've seen my chubby little thighs, that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone!)

I even took control of the spoon myself. I couldn't believe when it was all gone, I was kind of sad about that.

But with any luck, there will be more tonight. And I hear squash, sweet potatoes and carrots may be in my future! What an exciting new world!

Mami and Me: A Series of (Self) Portraits

Mami and I spent a lot of time together during our vacation. And Mami really likes to take self-portraits of us. (She's pretty silly sometimes.) Here are a few of them.

Our family vacation

This past weekend my family and I went to Denver, Colorado on vacation. We met Nana and Melissa and Mathias and Chris and Adam there, so it was a real family getaway.
We had to take a long plane ride to get there, but since I've flown to Minnesota and California, this was nothin'.

It was fun to have a new environment to play around in. I got my blanket out on the floor and set up my toys and just had a blast in our hotel.

I even practiced standing up a little! Impressive, huh?

I was so glad to have my sister Resli there with me too, since we always have fun together.

Even if she doesn't always get my pacifier quite in my mouth all the time. I know she's trying.

We ate out at a lot of restaurants, and i got to sit in a high chair for the first time! Hmm, let's see what's on this menu...

Mmmm, it all looks good to me!

Most of all, though, it was great to spend time with my family. We had a great time!

Happy Mother's Day!

It isn't quite Mother's Day yet, but we had a little early celebration with Mami, since we'll be out of town this weekend. And it was my first Mother's Day, so I was very excited about it. Look at the surprise we got Mami:

Peekaboo!

Were you surprised?!?

Quack quack!

How cute am I?
